Rather than linking to all lessons for each lesson program, the pre-class email to folks taking instructor training should reference the preferred lessons instead.

@karenword Can you offer feedback on this? Should modify the curriculum so it does not reference a list of preferred lessons, or should we modify the Handbook so that it does reference a list of preferred lessons?

I think the preferred lessons should be maintained by Trainers, and as such should be contained with in the Instructor Training repository rather than the handbook.

Linking out is also a great way to shorten this monstrous email. +1!!

Actually, I read this wrong. The pre-class email that @k8hertweck is referring to does not list all preferred lessons. Rather it suggests that trainees should review any of the lessons in the three lesson programs.

Looks like I opened this issue long ago in the Instructor Training curriculum repo (carpentries/instructor-training#1019) but it was not resolved. Can we resolve that issue before making changes to the Handbook?

EDIT: Typo in link formatting
