We specify that dual PhD students have a minimum of 12 credits of computationally-focused courses, but have no similar requirement for solely CMSE students. Do we want to adjust that? (It would make sense to do so.)
Do we want to make a list of faculty who have tenure homes in CMSE vs. outside of CMSE? This is important for students who want to do dual PhDs
Do we want to be more explicit about the composition of dissertation committees? In other words, do we want to ensure that at least two faculty on a CMSE-primary thesis committee have tenure homes in CMSE, or do we care? (At the moment just one faculty member has to have a tenure home in CMSE, but two are required - that means at it's possible to get a CMSE PhD with 1 FTE total (1 majority + 1 minority faculty) of >= 4 involved being in the department...)
For graduate certificates, do we want to require students to apply for the certificates when they decide that they want to do them so we can get them on the mailing list and so we can make sure that they know the requirements?
