I thought you might want to be aware of this as it approaches the issue from a different standpoint. I have installed both for testing. This one has a lot of dependencies. https://github.com/NobrainerWeb/Silverstripe-Section-Module/blob/master/README.md

Thanks for that. I just use widgets to achieve that kind of thing.

Its not quite the same thing..IMHO. You can just keep adding elements with icon clues to build up rows, however it displays them in a framework-rowless gridfield which thinking about it will get really confusing. Back to the drawing board with that one. I have just released a major NZ site (well, fairly high profile anyway) and the amount of hand coded tinyMCE divs in it to get what the designers want is ridiculous. Even more annoying is the tinyMCE tendency to remove empty divs or move the classes to nearby elements. So I'm also playing with the new CKEditor plugin.

I wonder if SilverStripe could gain a 'DMS' module? https://github.com/pagelines/DMS http://www.pagelines.com/

...I think we're trying to solve the same issue.

I’ve already been playing with this in a wordpress instance. It’s quite powerful. Pity its WP! Game on.

As for Drupal or Joomla, keeping track of what goes where is a nightmare.

The “game” is keeping designers who are used to using illustrator to make brochures happy without losing all one’s hair. And I have none to spare.
