Back to the site though I think it would be nice (maybe on desktop at least) if you could open the episodes from the list in a modal embed so I don't have to get sent to Youtube before watching an older episode, that would feel more natural imo (and could be a could opportunity for a short transition from clicking the episode card to layering the embed on top of the main content)

Consider embedding all of the videos.
Prerender 5 videos during the Gatsby build, then infinite scroll an additional 5 or so at a time.
