Galleries showing hidden files

I'm hoping you all can help. I just set this up and I absolutely LOVE it except for one small thing. My galleries are showing thumbnails for hidden files (._***) and I have no idea how to get rid of them. Also, I'm not sure how they're getting there because I've only copied the actual files to the folder. There's a hidden file thumbnail for each realy photo file. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
