To try out the Radio example the following preliminary steps are necessary:
1. run "mvn install -P javascript" in <JOYNR_ROOT>
2. run the following commands in <JOYNR_ROOT>/examples/radio-node
```
npm install
```
Then run the node applications by doing the following:
* connect to a joynr cluster controller via unix domain sockets (default):
1. ensure a cluster controller allowing to be connected via UDS is running and accessible
2. start a provider:
npm run startprovider [--radio-node:domain=<DOMAIN> --radio-node:runtime=uds --radio-node:uds:path=<SOCKETPATH> --radio-node:uds:providerid=<PROVIDERID> --radio-node:uds:connectsleeptimems=<CONNECTSLEEPTIMEMS>]
3. start a consumer:
npm run startconsumer [--radio-node:domain=<DOMAIN> --radio-node:runtime=uds --radio-node:uds:path=<SOCKETPATH> --radio-node:uds:consumerid=<CONSUMERRID> --radio-node:uds:connectsleeptimems=<CONNECTSLEEPTIMEMS>]
* connect to a joynr cluster controller via web sockets:
1. ensure a cluster controller allowing to be connected via web socket is running and accessible
2. start a provider:
npm run startprovider --radio-node:domain=<DOMAIN> [--radio-node:domain=<DOMAIN> --radio-node:runtime=websocket --radio-node:ws:host=<HOST> --radio-node:ws:port=<PORT>]
3. start a consumer:
npm run startconsumer --radio-node:runtime=websocket [--radio-node:domain=<DOMAIN> --radio-node:ws:host=<HOST> --radio-node:ws:port=<PORT>]
* start consumer and provider with its own embedded cluster controller (only partially supported in joynr javascript):
1. ensure a Global Discovery Directory and a MQTT Broker are running
2. start a provider:
npm run startprovider --radio-node:runtime=inprocess [--radio-node:domain=<DOMAIN> --radio-node:brokerUri=<BROKER_URI> --radio-node:bounceProxyBaseUrl=<BACKEND_URL>]
3. start a consumer:
npm run startconsumer --radio-node:runtime=inprocess [--radio-node:domain=<DOMAIN> --radio-node:brokerUri=<BROKER_URI> --radio-node:bounceProxyBaseUrl=<BACKEND_URL>]
Mixed modes are also possible, e.g. a provider connecting to the cluster controller via UDS and a
consumer connecting to the cluster controller via web sockets. In this case, the cluster controller
must be able to accept uds and websocket connections in parallel.
