If it must wrap, then it would be nice if it at least had a little bit of vertical space between them.

You're welcome to look into the issue, and submit a pull request if you're able to resolve it :-)

I believe it's related to the wrapping behaviour of a elements (because the relevant content contains two images with a shared link), which may be a useful starting point.
