The version of MintUpdate packaged for Netrunner is too old (from 2017). The package is created and can be installed, but it doesn't work. Plasma Discover fulfills the role that MintUpdate is meant to have (display notifications about updates), and having both is redundant to day-to-day user operations, so I think removing it from the default installation is best.
