Accessibility of dataviewJS variables

I can calculate and use variables in one dataviewJS code block, e.g.:

Let test = "this is a test";
dv.span(test);

but if I split that block in two elements like

Let test = "this is a test";

THIS IS SOME MARKUP

dv.span(test);

I will not get the content of the test variable. Is there a way to get that? My idea is to have all the 'calculation' as a common dataviewJS block at the top of the file an refer to the results with just some small elements inside the markup to integrate the results.

First that was not the answer for my question as it is still not possible to access variables of a first dataviewJS block in the file from inside a second block.

But - after understanding the usage of the dv.view() command I got a much better solution.

Now I have copied all the content of my dataviewJS blocks in separate files and access those files with small and very clean dv.view() calls. And that was my intention - separate code from markup in my notes!!
