I have started mining equihash coins but when I submit a block I get the message Pool sqcn1 failed to submit block 109799: tx-overwinter-active.

You are actually out of spec of my repo, the coin you are trying to mine is not part of my https://github.com/blackmennewstyle/miningcore/blob/dev/src/Miningcore/coins.json

So i imagine you added it manually, in that case you need to adjust the implementation yourself. Good luck
