Disclaimer: Fully aware this may just be an innate limitation with running commands through a VM. Only hoping to clear confusion if people are having trouble getting things to work using the same process.

"This is being run on a kali linux VM distro v. 6.6.9-amd64 through VirtualBox v. 7.0.18, the same attempt was made in a generic Ubuntu VM to the same effect.

Steps I've taken:

1: Hold buttons 1 & 4 while powering on to initiate USB mode.
2: run superbird's "--find-device" query. (Receiving confirmation of the device's connection.)
3: run superbird's "--enable_burn_mode", at which point the device fails to repond and force reboots with error:

"Device is not booted to the correct mode! /n need to boot into USB Burn Mode /n Failed to enter USB Burn Mode!"

The device then reboots to the spotify splash screen and displays the adapter warning.

It's very possible that this is an issue with USB/COM port compatibility from my host machine through the VM."

This has since been fixed by running a dual boot into Ubuntu on the host machine itself.
