Describe the bug
I cannot access the Corpus widget. I am running Orange 3.36.2. with the Text plugin at version 1.15.0. I tried downgrading the plug-in to version 1.14.0 with no luck. I have tried this on both a Windows and Linux install. I search for Corpus from "search for a widget" menu with no luck. I have a few machines available to me and I have tried the following:

On both Windows 11 and Linux installing via Conda (miniconda) I can install Orange 3.36.2, I can load the Text plug-in, but the Corpus plug-in is not showing on the pallet, nor in the search. Text does now show in the Options > Settings > Categories even though the plug in is loaded. (See attached)

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Installed Orange 3.36.2
  2. Installed Text via the Plug-In GUI, also attempted from the command prompt (conda install Orange-Text)
  3. Loaded Sample data BBC3 data
  4. Attempt to connect to a Corpus widget (Corpus is not available)

Expected behavior
Expect Corpus to be available on the pallet or in search.

Orange version:
3.36.2

Text add-on version:
1.15.0

Operating system:
Windows, OSX or Linux? Windows 11 and Linux Mint 21.2 Cinnamon, Kernel 5.15.0-106-generic

Additional context
I did have this working in Windows 11 prior to the upgrade to 3.36.2. It was working with 3.36.2. I am not sure if the Text plug-in was 1.14.0 or 1.15.0

I guess this because #1059 . Can you try downgrading scipy (as noted therein) and report if that helps? Thanks!

It worked straight away. I did the following within my Linux install.

  • Created a new environment within miniconda orange3txt
  • used conda-forge for install
  • downgraded scipy --> conda install scipy=1.11.4
  • test with no issues

Thanks for the quick reply Marko!
