I am a bit confused why the plots for Predictive Realizations and Posterior Predictive Realizations (in Part 1 of Gaussian Processes) are identical.

Could it be that plot_gp_realizations was used, mistakenly, instead of plot_gp_pred_realizations to plot the Posterior Predictive Realizations?
