it's a nice extra indicator of skill -- and might be subject to random variation, but so is current ELO.

Personally I think peaking at a high rank can be a point of pride? and when comparing two teams, looking at peak ELO might be a good addition to current ELO

(we once considered peak numerical ranking (eg 3rd place) but for many reasons this is just not a useful metric in the context of battlecode)
