It can't be installed into the top bay because it takes up too much room above the floppy drive, you can't use a cable that's above a certain gauge of wire because it needs to make a really tight bend, and it's too close to where it has to plug into.
Easy fixes:
Move the connector back to the other side of the board, so at least the angle is less severe (maybe)
Best possible fixes:
Also make the connector be a 90 degree coming out of the back next to the 26-pin slot, so we have lots of room to make a nice easy grade.
We'll need to:
source a 90 degree Molex 8981 style connector in right-angle,
get the right footprints,
respin the board,
assemble a working example to test
