As a passing remark, having looked at the calsnap script it is also possible to pass the backuptargets in calsnap.conf using the -T flag reading from a file, i.e.

backuptargets="-T /root/tarsnap-list.txt"

This has the advantage of allowing a complex list of targets, especially when you wish to dig deep into a hierarchy which is difficult to express as include and exclude statements in tarsnap.conf.
