Feature Request: position on top / bottom of screen

Currently the sidebar can only be positioned on the left/right of the screen. I would love to have it on the top/bottom. Any chance of that??

any updates on this front? this feature is crucial for mobile deployments.

Not a high priority for me right now. I'd be happy to accept a PR that implements it though.
