Is there on AWS SDK for java v2 an alternative to SecretCache?

No, there's no equivalent of SecretCache in Java SDK v2.

aws-secretsmanager-caching-java is maintained by the Secrets Manager team, not the Java SDK team. I see they are currently using Java SDK 1.12.x, you can ask them to upgrade to Java SDK 2.x in their Github repo: https://github.com/aws/aws-secretsmanager-caching-java

They have dismissed the request for support of Java SDK 2, implying there is no reason to prefer v2, here.

(...) we would like to understand your use-case to use SDKv2 over SDKv1. The two versions of the AWS SDK for Java can work together side-by-side without issue.

I find that unsatisfactory answer, so we will for now be caching by ourselves.
