The ACLs and security groups look fine wrt permitting inbound ssh connections and the system log shows the ssh server is running (on the single host I checked - there are of course two). However, trying to connect just hangs suggesting a firewall is dropping the packets or a router is misconfigured somewhere. I'm trying to get onto the boxes because the example doesn't work out of the box (hitting the ELB gives a 503 and a quick inspection of the ELB targets shows there are none, so something has gone badly wrong, but without being able to actually get on to the boxes, troubleshooting further is really pretty difficult).
Can we ensure ssh is available to the ec2 hosts out of the box please?
