Import known data/points from .csv file to an image

I found 'addKnownDataPoints.js' in script_examles quite useful. However I sometimes need to handle a large number of points (in .csv files) for one image. I am not good at java scripting but I am wondering if it's possible to add this 'add known points from .csv file' feature to the example scripts please.
