Create a system that can create and manage parallax mechanics. Could be as simply as putting some astroid, base or other static entities in the layers above or below the playing plane. Some lights would probably be needed.
Not sure if its possible to have unshaded materials that can work with a global light, at the same time as ships/world being shaded and only use point lights. Should be researched.
