Hello and thanks for Dexed. I'm hosting Dexed inside another JUCE project. I'd like to more accurately know which Dexed parameters are discrete and which are continuous. For example, I do this to print out a lot of information for each parameter.
py::list myList;
//get the parameters as an AudioProcessorParameter array// myPlugin is a juce::AudioPluginInstance*.const Array<AudioProcessorParameter*>& processorParams = myPlugin->getParameters();
for (int i = 0; i < myPlugin->AudioProcessor::getNumParameters(); i++) {
int maximumStringLength = 64;
std::string theName = (processorParams[i])->getName(maximumStringLength).toStdString();
std::string currentText = processorParams[i]->getText(processorParams[i]->getValue(), maximumStringLength).toStdString();
std::string label = processorParams[i]->getLabel().toStdString();
py::dict myDictionary;
myDictionary["index"] = i;
myDictionary["name"] = theName;
myDictionary["numSteps"] = processorParams[i]->getNumSteps();
myDictionary["isDiscrete"] = processorParams[i]->isDiscrete();
myDictionary["label"] = label;
myDictionary["text"] = currentText;
myList.append(myDictionary);
}
It seems that isDiscrete() is always returning False even for parameters such as ALGORITHM, and getNumSteps() is always 2147483647. In the case of any discrete parameter, I'd like to know how many discrete choices there are, and what the mapping is from integer choice to [0-1] float. For instance, is it (choice+0.5)/num_choices? Can you help me out? 😃

When formatted as JSON, the result is this:
