💡 Describe your idea

It is possible to change the size of the java client window. When the window size is reduced there are less tiles displayed on the main display area. What about when the size of the window is increased? Shouldn't be displayed more tiles? I think there is some constraint on the maximum size of the main area.

🔬 Motivation

I don't know exactly what impact this would have on the game play, maybe the game will be a little bit easier. I don't know.

Changing the client to increase the viewing area is trivial. But, it is currently considered cheating. I am all for increasing the viewing area, but there are many changes that would need to happen first. Number 1 is enemy AI. Making creatures "smarter" so players cannot avoid them too easily with the advantage of seeing more of a map area at once.

Making creatures smarter would change the game play a lot anyway, I think. For example there will be more creatures that will attack player, if visible creatures will try to attack him. Invisible creatures have their own routes of movement, so they are not "freezing" when the player do not see them.

I have been playing this game for a few days and one of my main complaints was the rather small 20x10 viewing area. I think even a 50% increase to 30x15 would be a great improvement. But if your character is going to view greater distances, then the enemies should also have an increase in their detection range to make the game fair. The other concerns about the game possibly getting easier this way are valid, but I think there might be ways to balance gameplay, like increasing enemy speed.

Or am I wrong?
Maybe creatures freeze when not seen. So there could be problems with making the view area greater.
