Using exit handler and global parameters in workflow template

I have issue similar to #3468

We are authoring many different templates and have one single code that create a workflow that just invoke the template with the parameters it gets. I want to edit exist handler that has to be specific per template - because it need different parameters based on the template. Reading the issue I am not sure it's possible so I wonder what will be the best way to achieve that, if it's possible at all...
