Surface en cell_zone

Hello everyone,

I am new to PyFluent and GitHub, so first forgive me if I'm not posting my question in the right section.

I am using pyfluent connected to a Fluent session in solution mode. I need to be able, from a surface, be it an internal or a wall, to retrieve in my python interface to which volume(s) it belongs. Is there a pyfluent command that can do that ?

I found a solution that is not elegant, since it uses a scheme function that is evaluated in python with pyfluent :
solver.scheme_eval.string_eval(f"(inquire-adjacent-threads (zone-name->id '{s}))")
where s is a string that contains the name of the surface that you want to explore. The command above will return the IDs of all the adjacent entities (be it a cell zone or another surface). You can couple it with :
solver.scheme_eval.string_eval(f"(zone-id->name '{id}))")
to retrieve the name of the entity given its ID.

However, this is not very elegant since it does not rely really on pyfluent ... If someone has a better solution I would still like to know it !
