Allow closing tour by clicking the dark background

There are edge cases with the media queries where the size of the window prevents the user from seeing the tour (it is off screen), but they do see the dark background covering the page. They are confused and can't figure out how to get rid of the dark background. Being able to click on it to close the tour would help and would also make it work similar to other similar modal patterns on the web.
