I usually start by a premise, expand it to a Short Synopsis of the Fabula, and then basically expand every sentence of the Short Synopsis to a paragraph or two in order to arrive at an Extended Synopsis. I can, of course, do that in-place, on the Fabula tab, but I'd prefer to do this side by side, and keep the Short Synopsis while working on the Extended version.
Less important, but maybe also something to consider, I would want to do something similar with Sujet/plot, before I start blocking chapters and scenes. It's less important - at least to me - as the lot is much more dynamic, once I have the Fabula down, so creating chapters and scenes and moving them around works reasonably well.
I'd be willing to contribute, if the overall idea is worth considering.
