Should be able to send just the component when specifying that component #259

When using the "options" argument to specify a specific component, the API should be able to accept the well formed XML for just the component as input for the "data" parameter. Currently, "data" is required to be a full document and will error otherwise.

@joshmc82 In order to effectively diagnose this, could you provide the XML content and component option used to reproduce the error?
