Does code navigation work in Linux?

Hi, I'm using Linuxmint, with vscode, all dependencies installed, global, ctags, ctags-exuberant, Pygments, I ran the command to update the tags, but when trying to go to a reference it doesn't work, is there anything else that needs to be done?
