Hey Andrew

So I tested plumble some more and tried to get it working with PTT without touching the phone (which is an HTC with 2.3.7).

There are a few issues but the app has improved significantly.

  1. Upon automatic reconnect bluetooth in mumble is disabled regardless if it was enabled before or not.
  2. Using hardware ptt on a wired headset, makes the microphone on the wired headset unusable. By screaming into the microphone a faint voice can be heard on a computer (and lots of background noise). By using hardware ptt on the phone (like volume down) then the wired headset microphone is fully functional and perfect quality comes through.
  3. Receiving transmission works well during a locked screen but sending them is useless. The PTT is of course not working. While trying to enable both transmit and receive functionality while the phone is in the pocket, it is incredibly hard to not accidentally drop out of the program by accidental clicks.

My wired headset does not have mute functionality. If it did I would try to enable voice activation and just mute when nothing is to be transmitted. That should hopefully work in locked screen mode aswell.

  1. Battery consumption while trying to use plumble without mute/ with ptt. Screen needs to be unlocked and backlit, and so on.

However these issues are maybe to be considered.

Cheers!
/Mike
