Unclarity in the README about the software's point

Thank you for your work.

Just what is the point of that work, though? Is it 1) to reduce the size of installed libraries? And/or 2) to reduce the size of the file(s) that install those libraries? And/or 3) to improve performance? And/or something else? I feel we should be told!
