Quoting Adam:

we could still make sure to bring a lot of extra data from when we had it in JS, e.g. dimensions, screen position, visibility, responsive behavior etc. for every element.

Creating this issue to track and finalize what should we be storing that relates to UI/design of the site being liberated.
