Debugging and trouble-shooting in block development

Many developers learning about block development and transitioning to the new WordPress paradigm come from a PHP development background. They are therefore unfamiliar with the debugging and trouble-shooting strategies available to them in a JavaScript/React development environment.

These can include:

• understanding error messages in the browser console
• understanding error messages in the terminal
• using the browser devtools efficiently and effectively
• knowing about the React and Redux devtools and using them
• adding debug statements (e.g. console functions) and breakpoints to the code in order to aid debugging
