Low performance in beta version 11 with cx_Freeze in gallery/kanban mode

I tried installing the beta version 11 build #1179 as well as #1194.

Whenever I go to the gallery or kanban tab, the framerate goes from >60 to <5.
Scrolling makes the whole interface jump up and down.
After a while I get the cx_Freeze error.

This was not an issue in version 10.2
Possibly related to the new image-gallery Perhaps there could be a setting to load smaller thumbnails and enable/disable gifs?

Is there a later build than 10.2, where this shouldn't be an issue?
