Hey folks!

We have a few slots for various incubations to discuss things in-person during TPAC 2024 in Anaheim.

If you'd like to discuss yours, please chime in below with: incubation, required time, and preferred timeslots.

Same as last year, the sessions will be chaired by the respective incubation champions.

Incubation: APCA/APC Readability Criterion.
(next generation perceptually uniform contrast, and readability guidelines).

Time needed: 60 minutes will do, but 90 minutes preferred, to allow for Q&A.
Presentation includes PowerPoint and live web pages.

Slot: any/flexible.

Happy to present any day (at the moment at least). I should mention these discussions often generate a lengthly Q&A, so it's ideal to schedule so the end of the session is next to a break or end of day.

Background

There is a LinkTree with essential resources for contrast & color, APCA, etc.

And also:

Thank you for reading,

Hi Yoav,

@erik-anderson and I would like to request some joint time for the incubations of the Protected Audience API and the Ad Selection API, primarily focused on the ongoing alignment efforts between the two largely-converged proposals.

I would prefer a 2hr time slot if available, but we could make due with 1.5hrs.

Time slot: Any part of the WICG slot on Tuesday 24 Sept would be good. We could also meet during the earlier part of the Thursday 26 Sept slot, any time ending before 14:00. (Sorry to be so constrained; I'm trying to avoid conflicts with Anti-Fraud CG, Privacy IG and CG, and Private Advertising Technology CG.)

We'd like to request a ~1 hour slot for Related Website Sets, preferably on Fri as Thu has a lot of conflicts with Privacy CG, Anti-Fraud CG, WebAppSec, etc.

Update: See agenda here

@yoavweiss Can a project incubated within WICG be a part of breakout sessions? I've requested the updates on fenced frames with unpartitioned data access as a breakout but PLMK if I should instead add it here. Thanks!

@shivanigithub the breakout sessions are the entire membership, and may be a more limited resource. These sessions will be tucked in amongst group meetings.

<chair hat off>

I'd like to discuss the Address Autofill proposal, preferably on the Friday morning.

<chair hat back on>

OK, so putting the above into slots:

Slot Topic Chairs
Tuesday 2pm-4pm Protected Audience and Ad Selection @michaelkleber and @erik-anderson
Thursday 11am-12pm Device Bound Session Credentials @kmonsen
Thursday 12pm-12:30pm Cross origin web install @diekus @amandabaker @dmurph
Thursday 1pm-1:30pm Data Aggregation @alois-bissuel
Friday 11am -12pm Address Autofill API @yoavweiss
Friday 1pm -2pm Related Website Sets @johannhof
Friday 2pm -3pm Next generation audio @chrisn

Still plenty of slots left, if other folks want to run working sessions of their incubations!

chrisn commented Sep 6, 2024

If there's a new incubation that we want to start and want to ask the chairs' approval to create a repo, is there a particular timeslot we should request, or other way you'd prefer to do it?

@yoavweiss

@chrisn that doesn't typically require F2F time with the chairs. If there's a proposal and it has industry support, that's typically enough.

Hello @yoavweiss
I would like to have some time to discuss on the needs of advertiser when dealing with aggregated data with differential privacy.
As I am very familiar with this API, most of my examples will be taken from ARA, but this might interest the IPA and maskedLarks folks.
Thanks a lot!
Forty five minutes should be ample enough, I could squeeze to thirty if needed.

Thanks @yoavweiss. I'd like to request 1 hour on the Friday to discuss a topic that's not yet in WICG, but we're hoping start. Our aim is to determine support at the TPAC MEIG meeting (Monday). The topic is: Next Generation Audio codec support.

Hey @alois-bissuel , what kind of format did you have in mind for this? Do you have 30 minutes of material prepared or were you hoping for some discussion?

(Personally, I'd only be free on thursday for this kind of session)

@alois-bissuel

I was thinking of 15 minutes of material plus some discussions. I guess 30 minutes is good!

@alois-bissuel - Added a session on Friday at 3pm. Let me know if that works

Is it possible to find a slot on THursday? We have an all-day PATCG session on Friday that conflicts.

Same as @csharrison , as I would love to be able to follow the PATCG session too.

Hola hola, I'd like to propose alongside @amandabaker and @dmurph a time to discuss with @w3ctag about Web Install cross-origin.

We're keen on discussing TAG concerns and coming up to a place where we move forward together on the API and it's use cases.

Thursday morning for 45 minutes seems a suitable time to synchronise.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Anaheim next week!

Is this schedule still accurate #194 (comment)

Since the power outage affected our scheduled time this morning, we are going to reschedule the Protected Audience and Ad Selection API discussion to 2pm today (~40 minutes from now). Hope you can make it!

@scheib - it is AFAIK (other than @diekus' session, that still has discussions regarding the ideal slot for it)
