[Bug Report]
Popup dialogs in WALC SNAP version on (K)Ubuntu 24.10 show open squares iso characters

WALC Installation Type: Snap

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install SNAP
  2. Open dialog, e.g. for saving a document or to quit WALC.
  3. All text characters are replaced by open squares.

Expected behavior
Readable text

Did you try closing and then opening it back?:
Yes, even restarted Kubuntu. Problem seems to be persistent.

System Information (please complete the following information):

  • OS/Distro: Kubuntu 24.10

Additional context
This may be related to the SNAP sandbox.
For other applications, sometimes extra rules need to be set.
Maybe the SNAP does not have access to the font files it specifies.

  1. Install SNAP and start WALC
    Graphics Platform: Wayland
    KDE Plasma: 6.1.5 / KDE Frameworks 6.6.0 / Qt 6.6.2 / Kernel 6.11.0.9-generic (64 bit)
