1920x1080 is listed as a video resolution but cannot be switched to it #1716

Your system information

  • Steam client version: 1730853027
  • SteamOS version: 3.6.20
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes
  • Opted into SteamOS beta?: No
  • Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

The monitor's native resolution is 2048x1152. Selecting 1920x1080 in the list of resolutions does not actually switch to that resolution. It changes the size of the UI elements because those are still at the defaults, so it is trying to change something, but the actual resolution doesn't change, it stays at 2048x1152. Used to work in older versions of SteamOS. Other resolutions listed in the dropdown can be switched to.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Be on my 2048x1152 monitor on 3.6 SteamOS and try to change to 1920x1080 in the gaming mode video resolutions dropdown.
