Odd date sorting

On the fall 2019 senior sem the event dates seem to be sorted in descending order with 16 November 2019 coming before 24 October 2019. I wonder if it's actually only sorting by day rather than the full date. Other senior sems seem to be sorted in ascending order.

It would appear that papers are grouped by date and room but those groups are not sorted so they inherit the ordering of the original data.

I don't know if we want to keep this functionality or enforce sorting on the groups.
