For example, one of fs.readFileSync definition is

    export function readFileSync(
        path: PathOrFileDescriptor,
        options?: {
            encoding?: null | undefined;
            flag?: string | undefined;
        } | null
    ): Buffer;

Why define the optional property encoding as type of null | undefined ?

What could the use case of that ?
