GnGeo missing from V2 Beta 2?

V2 Beta 2 is incredible! Performance and audio in Picodrive and Snes9x are now excellent! Hats off to the team for all your work on this.

My only gripe is that GnGeo is missing from the pre-installed emulators. Is there a current version I can download and add manually?

No one of the current 2.0 betas came with standalone emulators, only Retroarch (and its cores) is included for the moment.
We have plans to include standalone apps in form of IPKs at some point (installers).
For now you can add emulators manually, you should use the uClibc version for most compatibility with old apps from cfw 1.3.3.
About GnGeo sadly Steward-fu repository was shut down, idk if someone still have the latest source/release.

For now you could use FBA-A320 or even GnGeo from 1.3.3
FBNeo could work on cfw, but needs to be ported.

Have you tested this on the v90 out of curiosity? I installed it on my v90 and tried it with both the Ghostware and FBA 2012 unmerged romsets (and the accompanying BIOSes in both the roms directory and the emulator directory) but roms won't load. I can start the emulator, select a rom to load, get a loading message, then it aborts back to the OS menu.

I also created a gngeorc file, set the BIOS and rom path to match my system (mnt/emus/gngeo) but the result was the same.

Yes ive tested, .zip and .gno files, maybe ure using wrong bios? (neogeo.zip)

Yes, I included neogeo.zip. The one with the Ghostware pack was around 873kb, the FBA 2012 one was around 1.4mb. When I tried the Ghostware ROMs, I put the corresponding BIOS zip in both the content directory and the gngeo directory. When that didn't work, I swapped out the ROMs and the BIOS files for the FBA 2012 versions and tried again. I assume it doesn't matter which directory I install gngeo to? Also, I'm using the uClibc image of CFW 2 beta 2. I take it I should be using that one and not musl?

UPDATE: Managed to get it working. I ran into some other issues with my OS (a botched install of SimpleMenu v4) so I reflashed and started again. When I installed gngeo this time, I used USB transfer mode to place the installer in the main folder (last time, I put the SD in my linux PC and accessed the folders as root). I then re-copied the Ghostware romset and bios, then ran gngeo installer on the v90 and it worked fine!

Not sure if it's just random luck, or:

1. Copying the ipk via USB rather than direct root access had an impact on file permissions

OR

2. Installing directly from MAIN/ was better for the default config / folder structure.

1. is correct answer.
   The direct SD card access is rather not recomended method for common end-user (due to mentioned permissions issues, and limited btrfs driver on Win pc). Moreover everything is case-sensitive now so it should be /mnt/roms/NEOGEO not /mnt/roms/neogeo - default dir for ROMsets and BIOSes.
