Sox? looking into things to do with arecord

Hi guys,

I was wondering, I thought maybe I could use sox when looking into what else to do with arecord.
The "record sound" script peaked my interest and I'm playing around seeing what I could do that would be useful to me (I also use my v90 to make music).

I thought sox would be available but it seems not? Is it planned or is there any potential issue with it?
