Half or most of image being viewed on PocketGo gets cut off

Basically, some or half of image gets cut off when browsing through them on PocketGo v1. Using built-in viewer. Modifying the image with a different height or width doesn't affect the problem.

The built-in image viewer (in Explorer) is not scaling the images to fit the screen -- it's showing them real-size. You can use the D-pad to pan around the whole image (or in this case to pan down and show the bottom bit).

Also, which skin are you using? Because the skin used may have an effect on the visible area of the image. You could try changing to a different skin.

I think it only happens on, specifically, PNG images. And the CPU can't even keep up with viewing a single 4MB image that is more than 4000 pixels in height or width! One time, I had it crashed after the system loads image previews, which won't unload unless I leave the explorer.

One notable image I had problems with is one of my project spritesheets, to which stops at approximately 1400 pixels of scrolling down. The image is 1264x12168 pixels.

It may be running out of memory to display the image. If it's a particularly large image, the device may not have enough memory to display it. You see, a 4 MB PNG image is a compressed image file. In order to display it, the computer/device needs to decompress it first, and put it into memory. And Miyoo devices have a total of merely 32 MB of RAM (memory) -- which is used by the whole system! They don't have a graphics card/processor to take care of image decompression either -- which is why the main processor gets bogged down, needs to deal with it (in addition to everything else it is dealing with, running the system).

I suspect that this is the reason that loading stops past a certain point on large images, and why decompressing certain large image files bogs down the system.

I can confirm that this doesn't happen with smaller PNG images. They display from top to bottom fine on my device.

Looks like I will have to separate the spritesheet into "parts", kind of like what I did to an MP3 player I got from the internet.

Yep, that sounds like the best idea. Nods. The best (most optimised) thing would be to actually automatically cut them up into 320 x 240 px sequential segments before transferring them to the device.

Found a solution: If the image is taller in height than it is long in width, rotate the image 90 degrees, and hold the unit vertically. I got the same 1264x12168 image to display properly by doing this. Probably will not work 100% of the time, but hey! I found an interesting remedy to this problem. ;)
