Is there any support for the analog stick on Q90? #326

Hmm... interesting question. I think you should consider the form-factor and comfortable hold more than the extra buttons and analogue stick. Which device is more practical for you to use -- go with that one. The analogue stick on the Q90, while not particularly comfortable, is fully usable, and functions as a smoother/analogue D-pad. It's not too special, but I've found it handy from time to time if I want to switch the style of movement controls I'm using to play a game. In 'Ecco the Dolphin' and 'Togepi's Great Adventure' I found it useful to switch up from time to time, for example. The D-pad is better for accuracy, but the analogue stick can give you more speed and fluidity. Note that the stick is hard plastic, not even with a rubber grip -- pretty dodgy. A similar thing goes with the extra buttons on the V90. They're a handy extra option from time to time, but it's not something that the system actually uses as default controls. They're extras, not essentials -- so consider the form-factor and personal practical use-case of the device more than these extra features when deciding. If you're going to play PlayStation games on your PowKiddy, then you'll need the V90's extra buttons. But if you're going to be playing PlayStation games on your PowKiddy, you should not be getting a V90/Q90, but much stronger/faster hardware. Both of these PowKiddy devices are designed for emulating consoles/games before the PS1, really. The PocketGo (1st form factor), and the PowKiddy Q90 and V90 have pretty much the exact same specs/speed in terms of their hardware. Hope this helps. |

Main Reason for analog stick: Marketing Sales The Q90 analog is not independent of the other consoles. is directly mapped to the D-Pad, so it replicates its movements. To give more context, the first Bittboy supported L/R/L2/R2 and analog stick from the beginning, later versions/clones started to use its full components (the first one was pocket go with L/R buttons). So is nothing new in terms of hardware, you can still add all of these buttons to the previous consoles modifying its hardware, but sadly the analog stick doesnt work separated from the other buttons, is just a copy from the D-Pad. |

Hi! I am wondering if there is any real reason to get the Q90 with the analog stick over the V90, is there a way to use it in any of the home computer emulators or something? Or should I get the V90 for more buttons?
Thank you!
