Restoring "Bricked" op-1 #2
Comments
Hi! what was the reason that it stopped turning on?
Well, looks like your flash data is defective or perhaps it is out of order (or CPU or power or some board issues can also be the reasons why you do not see anything on the screen). I advise you to unsolder the flash chip, find a suitable programmer BGA63 and write a flash dump from this repository (TE-OP-1-flash-dump-fw241-boot-ok-formated-fw-MT29F4G08ABBDA@BGA63_2131.BIN.zip file).
no, this cannot be done simply programmatically if the device does not turn on in boot mode. only using the BGA63 programmer for your flash chip
some BGA63 programmer software. You should check that is supports Micron MT29F4G08ABBDA
Well, I can't give any guarantees. maybe you should find a person with the same board and make the dump of its flash chip, but this is money, time and risks for different person :) I think my dump should suit you, because otherwise we would have different chips and firmware for different op1 revisions, but this is not the case. If possible, then of course it’s better to contact the service center, but I’m not sure that they are fixing something, and they won’t offer to buy a new board (if they are still available) as they answered me |
sorry for the late reply and thanks for the response the op1 stopped working when the previous owner replaced the internal lithium battery. it wouldnt boot after. ive found someone to lend me a Xeltek superpro 610P Does this programmer sound familiar or seem like they could work? any help here would be appreciated. unfortunately i couldnt find someone with another op1 open to having me desolder some parts |
Are you sure the chip is damaged and not something else on the board?
don't know anything about it. I don't have more information than what's in the documentation. we used RT-809H as I remember
it will not be easy, the devices are not cheap :( |
Hello, i just found this repo and it seems like it could be usefull in my attempt to fix/repair a non booting (bricked) te op1.
my op-1 is not booting and cannot access the TE boot menu either.
upon power up, a faint click sound is heard on the speaker and sometimes a led flicker. theres a red led that turns on when power switch is "on" or if the device is charging via USB.
it is not detected via USB by a windows computer.
my guess is that the bootloader has corrupted and will no longer boot correctly.
questions:
thank you for your time
