asking for maintainers

Hi, I don't really get to this anymore. So I would like to add one of you in this little comminity as a maintainer.
A maintainer for this github page and also for the npm package.

I am currently thinking about you:

the Task is to

• make the package compatible with modern tooling
• help some people in the issues with issues (I think the noChildNodes is difficult to grasp for many users)
• make usefull but carefull additions to the lib. only allow features in that a outside lib could not solve by beeing outside. such es the getById feature that is able to parse only one element without parsing the entire xml doc.

I am also not sure about the right process find and pick the right person. should I setup a discord so we can have some chat? Or we can just do it within this issue,... please let me know your thoughts.
