Disappearing rectangles

The system refuses to draw rectangles which are too thin. This makes sense, but seeing the thin little area just prior to releasing the mouse and having it simply disappear is irksome.
Usability would be enhanced if it would either:

• have a warning border color around the rectangle when below the limit; or
• it would create the rectangle but force the width to the minimum value (only useful if we have drag function though, otherwise probably annoying).
