Tried to collect all the /data partition in a tar.bz2 with selinux contect included. No. Seems that the 3.4 build includes toybox instead of busybox and as so:

  1. no selinux context can be stored in tar files
  2. bzip2 (tar cj) does not work

Can you release a version with busybox and selinux please?
