We've gotten emails from SumoLogic that we are running outdated Local Collectors on some hosts, but the cookbook apparently doesn't support upgrading installed collectors. Is this a possibility?

Since the cookbook itself does not provide an upgrade process, is there a recommended way to go about upgrading?

You can upgrade the collector via the WebUI on the Manage Collection page screen shot 2017-04-28 at 12 13 20

I would guess the reason why there is no upgrade path via chef is that there is a high likelihood of collector compatibility issues (I have tried upgrading in UI and sometimes it works other times not). If we had a good way of doing this I am all ears. What I do in my envs is either UI or relaunch instances (preferable to UI upgrades) so it comes up with the newest collector installed. I realize that not all people using sumologic have the appropriate automation to support just re-launching instances but that should always be the ideal...
