marking events in the neural recording

Is there a tutorial available for marking the events in the neural recording data ? I have a data recording (.rhs file) and i have penned down (separately) some time stamps where I want to mark/insert/annotate an event in my recording.
how to do it ?

Hi @kshtjkumar

Can I ask you what you need events for? We do not have methods to "mark" epochs or so. The reason is that SpikeInterface is mainly designed for "pre-processing", so going from raw data to spike times.
If instead you have penned down times with noisy events or other stuff related to processing, there are several ways to use them, depending on your needs.

So we recorded from the sedated mice, and while the data was getting recorded from the intan device , we gave physical stimulation to mice like stroking the tail, touching the whiskers, body etc and noted the time for every touch and its type. This was done to see of the firing rate is changing when stimulated. Now to view these on the recording, I was thinking maybe I can mark those on the recording to demarcate the boundaries and show that during the touch the firing increased and compare it with when not touched. Does this help ? please let me know if more detailed explanation is required. Thanks

Sure! So what you can do is to make a NumpyEvent object to carry all the timing and info about the events.

Then you could use it, for example, to add vertical lines on plots etc. Note that this is not the core functionality of SpikeInterface, so for this kind of behavioral tracking features are quite limited.
