As of 2020.02.14:

  • Camera can capture at ~5hz (~200ms) when operating at 1080p on a rpi3B+
  • On a rpi3B+, the pipeline can operate at around 10Hz (170ms)
  • On a rpi4B+, the pipeline can operate at around 17Hz

Currently, the most limiting factor is the capture of new frames. Once we can get higher FPS on the camera, then the most limiting factor might change.
